A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph the 2nd Annual Jamie’s Heart Foundation benefit dinner at the Tacoma Landmark.  This is a very special foundation formed and led by my dear friends who lost their daughter, Jamie two years ago to congenital heart disease.  If you would like to learn more about how you can help or contribute, click here to go to their site.

This year, as I was telling a friend, was a bit sweeter.  Last year, Jamie’s loss was still one year fresh and the slideshow did us all in.  I have to admit, I got choked up when I saw a sweet little girl’s table set up with tablecloth and teacups in remembrance of Jamie (I wish I would’ve taken a picture!!!)  She would’ve been four this year.  Another sweet factor, was an entire table of parents of children of congenital heart disease.  Part of the slideshow was dedicated just to these precious families.  So, it was definitely a little sweeter for me this year.  Remembering Jamie and celebrating her life, as short as it was.  She was such a joy and amazing little fighter.  One exciting thing for the Hannahs is that they are expecting their fifth child in just a few weeks!  Sadly, Corina will not hold out for me to return from my trip to Ireland, but I totally forgive her for that…(nice of me, huh?)

I am so blessed to be a part of such a great cause, it makes me so grateful for the everyday blessings I take for granted.  Go check out their site, and read about their story, it will make your squeeze your kids a little bit tighter tonight when you tuck them in.  I love you Tim and Corina, and I’m so excited to meet little Andrew very soon!  Enjoy the photos…

Tim and Corina, the heart and fire behind the foundation…

OMG the idea of a little table with little teacups for rememberance of Jamie makes me cry!
